Our Programs: Itasca

Itasca is our longest continually operating campus, founded in 1906. It was then that 12 children were moved from our original home in Dallas to the Files Valley, east of Itasca. Several cottages, a school building, dining hall, recreation center and chapel have been added throughout the years.

Today, the Itasca campus includes four homes that each serves up to eight children between the ages of 5 and 17. Our trained staff serve as parents to provide a nurturing environment for children to practice positive behaviors and healthy family relationships.

Our kids receive spiritual guidance and Christian nurture through prayer, Bible study, and participation in the worship and life of First Presbyterian Church in Itasca. They attend local schools and receive daily supervised study time and specialized tutoring as needed. Some participate in extracurricular activities and many attend church camp.
